  • The Importance of AA (active alignment) Equipment for Automobile Camera Manufacturers

    In the field of camera manufacturing, ensuring a reliable and continuous power supply is crucial for delivering high-quality imaging solutions. AA (active alignment) Equipment, with its versatility and widespread availability, play a key role for camera manufacturers. Let me introduce the importance of AA equipment in this blog.

     

    Camera module with theoretical perfect accuracy as showed

    Perfect optical path, the optical axis center of the lens and the optical axis center of the sensor chip CMOS overlap, but because of the manufacturing tolerances, this theoretical camera require expensive compoments,and is difficult to manufacture.

     

    Lens optical axis deviation

    When the lens manufacturer assembles the lens, the optical axis of the lens is already shifted when it is stacked, and it is not absolutely in the center axis of the lens (as shown in the picture below).


     

    Lens and CMOS Assembly Tolerance

    Lens and CMOS assembly, due to the lens, lens barrel and CMOS tolerance can not use the traditional two-dimensional focusing process to produce a perfect camera module, imperfect camera to take pictures of the corners of the image quality blurred, can not realize the effective use of high pixel.

     

    Active Focus Process

    The active focusing process can make sure the center axis of the lens and the CMOS center axis overlap, aligning to optical rather than mechanical properties results in the best possible focus across the whole image, and perfect centering of the image on the sensor. This assembly is completed in the camera module lighting work, CMOS center and corners of the image quality adjustment is clear, and then fix the position of the lens barrel and CMOS.

     

    CandidTech now owns two fully automatic AA equipments purchased from two well-known Chinese equipment manufacturer. which are used to automatically adjust the alignment between the lens and CMOS of the lens module. It mainly consists of fully automatic transfer module, information entry module, dispensing module, active focusing module, Uv curing module and so on. Through the nano-precision six-axis table to clamp the lens module, precision optical path design, accurate algorithm, to realize the best MTF imaging of the whole camera module, and fix the best position to complete the AA focusing, reaching the cutting-edge AA process technology in the field of in-vehicle camera modules.

     

     

    These two equipments have widely used in rear view camera, surround view camera, ADAS camera modules and have been mass produced for GEELY, NISSAN, SAIC MAXUS and other OEM manufactuer. Besides, also support to security IPC, medical endoscopes modules and other active focusing core process.
